Main purpose of the job:
Are you looking to start a career in Dental Nursing? We have an exciting opportunity available for you to work with us whilst studying to become a qualified Dental Nurse. The role holder will support the provision of primary care dentistry on our undergraduate student clinics as well as providing chairside assistance to our general dental practitioners.
What will I be doing?
Role summary:
The role holder will be enrolled with Exeter College as an Apprentice Dental Nurse and will be mentored by experienced clinical staff to support the provision of high-quality, safe clinical care, including all aspects of Primary Care Dentistry and associated administrative tasks.
We are currently recruiting for two positions at our Exeter practice, located in EX2 4SG.
The role holder will also be required to take part in student activities, including induction and assessments.
Key accountabilities:
- Effective and efficient engagement with all processes required to support the provision of clinical care
- Liaise with clinic staff and students to maximise the efficiency of the clinics
- Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Equality and Diversity regulations for staff, students and patients
- Ensure all clinicians and students are adhering to policies, protocols and processes
- Work as a chairside Dental Nurse
Additional information
- GCSE or equivalent 4/C or above in English and Maths
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Computer literacy, including competence with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work as an individual within a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Understanding of how internal processes can impact organisational performance
- Able to prioritise and move between tasks to meet deadlines
- Demonstrates self-leadership
